This guide is accompanied by a CBA Toolkit that you will use to conduct a CBA of your company (or
your client company if you are a consultant, investment manager or an
investment banker). Well, actually the CBA Toolkit is accompanied by this guide
but it really does not matter.
What matters is the structure of the CBA Toolkit and how it
is supposed to be used. CBA Toolkit is based around CBA Workbook (in MS Excel format) linked to a set of documents in
MS Word format.
For each step in your CBA (KEF, corporate vision statement, corporate
strategies, etc.), CBA Workbook offers a central worksheet that contains the Aggregate Performance Scorecard (APS) for
the object/area/function in question, financial & operational performance
improvement plan structured as a simple Gantt chart and links to other
components of CBA Workbook and CBA Toolkit.
For those areas that require analysis of object-related KPI
(strategic objectives, products, brands, etc.), CBA Workbook offers a corresponding
KPI Scorecard (KPIS). Also, for each
step in your CBA, CBA Workbook offers a special worksheet for corporate documents related to APS
questions, object-related KPI, activities of the operational plan, numbers of
the financial plan and for the whole object/area/function in question.
Also, each APS and KPIS (as well as some corporate documents)
are linked to ‘ACRC files’ in MS Word
format. These files contain Analysis, Conclusions, Recommendations and Comments
for APS questions, object-related KPI, corporate documents and for the whole object/area/function
in question.
